This River Oaks private residence took on a trapezoidal plan shape in order to create an interior courtyard which takes advantage of the property's extensive views of Buffalo Bayou. The glass lined courtyard presented unique challenge for the lighting due to the desire to keep views transparent even at night. Light levels were balanced across the visible areas of the home as well as across the landscape and courtyard pool. Interior lighting was chosen for its clean lines, complimenting the mid-century modern style of the home.
